Since Hans Oersted’s discovery of the element in 1825, aluminum has more than proven its worth as a central component in world industrial production. In 2017, industrial demand for aluminum in North America alone rose to more than 27 billion pounds in the eighth straight year of increased growth of demand for the metal.
